In July it was time to pick some Hjortron (Cloudberries/Moltebeere). They are very special and only grow in more nordic climates.
Here you can find them in swampy areas with a lot of water in the ground – so exactly where all the mosquitoes are. When they are ripe, they become a golden tone and are very soft and squishy with a sweet taste that reminds me of honey. Due to the color they got their nickname „Norrlands guld“ and they truly look golden in the sun. When I took those pictures, the berries weren’t entirely ripe yet, but I think they were beautiful anyways.
I was so happy to have found that place with so many berries, but when I came back a week later to see if they were ripe yet, most of them were gone. So someone else was apparently faster than me in picking them. What a shame. Since then I have found many more places with Hjortron plants, but now it is too late to still pick them. For next year I have some more ideas on where to search for them when I want to pick them.

So schöne Bilder! Bei uns in Dalarna gab es leider dieses Jahr kaum Hjortron und selbst bei den Blaubeeren hatten wir Pech und es kam uns jemand zuvor.

Dankeschön! 😊 Ohje wie schade! Bei den Hjortron hatte ich noch ein bisschen Glück. Die Blaubeeren waren leider genau dann reif, als ich auf Reise in Deutschland war. Die habe ich also ein bisschen verpasst. Aber es bleiben ja noch Preiselbeeren und Pfifferlinge, ich hoffe ich werde noch das Eine oder Andere sammeln können.

Oh ja, Pfifferlinge! Freue mich jetzt vor allem auf die trattkantareller, davon will ich dieses Jahr wieder so viele trocknen, dass wir damit bis zum nächsten Herbst versorgt sind 😍

Pilze sammeln möchte ich auch unbedingt! Da ich das aber noch nie gemacht habe muss ich mir das entsprechende Wissen erst einmal aneignen oder am besten jemanden dabeihaben, der Erfahrung hat. Nicht, dass ich am Ende noch irgendwelche giftigen Zwillinge sammle oder so… 😀

Ja, da muss man schon vorsichtig sein. Schau mal ob es bei dir in der Gegend Pilzkurse gibt oder ob dir ein/e Bekannt/e was beibringen kann. Tolles Wissen, das sollte nicht verloren gehen (ich muss auch noch viel mehr darüber lernen).
